2008 Bicentennial Archaeology Project at Blandwood
In the picture above, students from the UNCG Field School excavate around loose bricks found in the bottom of a unit. Continued digging of this unit led to the discovery of a brick foundation wall approximately two feet below the present day surface. The project is a joint effort between Blandwood and Dr. Linda France Stine, Department of Anthropology, University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Stine and Blandwood Director/Curator, Ashley Poteat, applied for and were awarded a grant through the History Committee of the 2008 Greensboro Bicentennial Commission.
